Mission The mission of the Peace Corps Ukraine IT Working Group is to encourage broad use of information technology (IT) throughout Ukraine and to provide convenient access to resources for current and future Peace Corps Ukraine Volunteers. Objectives 1. To advance the effectiveness of current and future Volunteers in Ukraine by maintaining a large library of resources on the Peace Corps Ukraine volunteer web site and to direct them to other online resources. [see Resources section] 2. To train Volunteers and their counterparts in the necessary technology skills – including but not limited to use of e-mail, conducting research via the Internet, and developing websites for their organizations – at Pre-Service and In-Service Training Programs. [see IT Resources] 3. To aid current Volunteers in sharing their experiences as Peace Corps Volunteers in Ukraine with friends and family around the world. [see Volunteer Life and Tech Tips] Membership and Meetings The IT Working Group is composed of one or two “tech savvy” Volunteers from each group of Volunteers currently in Ukraine. Commitment to participation in the IT Working Group, consistent access to the Internet and some background in web design are more critical factors in membership. The IT Working Group meets biannually at Peace Corps Headquarters in Kyiv to review the content of the PCUkraine.org web space as well as to plan and coordinate IT training activities and programs.
